When we pulled our test pair of Lake’s CX401 shoes out of the box we were struck by the beautiful pearl black and red color. These striking shoes are sure to catch any rider’s eye right away and Lake’s Custom Fit Carbon moldable carbon heel are designed to make these shoes fit anyone’s feet like a glove.

This year the Lake CX401′s have lost their Velcro strap and now fully-enclosed by the micro-adjustable Boa lacing system that make putting these on a snap and shave access weight. We can’t wait to get on the bike and take these performance shoes for a serious spin.

Besides traditional SPD-SL three-hole cleats, the CX401 are offered in a version that will accept Speedplay pedals.
